(Good) Changes are Coming!
Hello Friends and for those that have been around from the beginning, Scoops!
I'm writing to inform you that Ice Cream Dice has started the process of being acquired.
It’s time to say goodbye. For me, I’m bidding goodbye to a brand that I built on honesty, integrity, humor, and a lot of love. However, I’m also saying goodbye to tons of stress, debt (hopefully), and the constant feeling of letting people down. You will be saying goodbye to long wait times in shipping, to stock running out for reasons unknown, to apologies, sometimes excuses, and to emails going unanswered.
In the next week or so, I will be shipping all my stock to be inventoried by the folks acquiring the brand. The company will take inventory of the items they have received and I will provide them with information on any outstanding orders. Once they have everything accounted for, they will start fulfilling outstanding orders as well as taking new orders for Ice Cream Dice. My shop will be shut down and I will no longer take new orders. I will continue fulfilling the Pride Kickstarter and all orders that include non-dice items.
There are a lot of details that we haven’t entirely ironed out yet, but we will. It is my top priority to ensure that everyone who has supported me, found joy in what I've created, and shown more patience than I deserve, receives their orders! Whether these are shop orders or the End of the Rainbow Float Kickstarter.
This isn’t the end for me, and I don’t believe it’s the end for Ice Cream Dice either. I think we’ll both do better having the operational and logistics side of things taken care of by people who are far more organized than me.
I’m such a ball of mixed emotions about this, but I know it is the right choice. A few weeks ago, things got really dark inside this brain of mine. Among other things, I considered bankruptcy, which was not a wise idea. Instead, I sent out a cry for help to the folks now taking over Ice Cream Dice. I couldn’t see a way out, because of their help, I'm doing better now. Also, I’m on new meds which seem to have made a difference in this brain of mine. I talked about all of this with Ice Cream Wife who, when all I can see is the ways I have failed, always reminds me of the good things I have done and the things that the company has provided.
The most important thing to me is to make sure that my commitments arehonored as best as they can be. This will take some time. While I'm saying goodbye to some of the more stressful parts of owning a business, I'm not saying goodbye to you. It may feel that way as Ice Cream Dice changes hands, though. So, I would very much like to thank you all for your support over the years. I appreciate you so much.
Thank you. For everything.
